Justin Koenen grew up dreaming big and filming small stories with friends on his parents’ MiniDV camera. That early love of storytelling eventually brought him to Los Angeles for film school, where he began working his way through the camera department—from Camera PA to a Local 600 Union First Assistant Camera, while developing his own work as a Cinematographer.

His experience in the camera department shaped both his technical foundation and his approach to collaboration. Today, he brings that experience and the same curiosity that first put a camera in his hands to every project.
